Meet Holly Barnes, LPC
A place where healing happens.
Therapist for Women & Teen Girls in Lafayette, CO
You’re starting to feel trapped in your own life: doing everything you can to keep up the image of being ‘okay’ while constantly battling overwhelm & anxiety.
No one would argue that you get things done—you’ve got the career or grades to prove it. But you hold yourself to such high standards that “done” often doesn’t feel like enough. And when you reach a milestone or an achievement and still feel unsatisfied, it makes you question what it’s all for.

Maybe you find yourself thinking…
“No one else seems to be struggling this much—is there something wrong with me?”
“Why do I keep falling into the same patterns when I know they’re holding me back?”
“I’m sick of feeling stuck—but I’ve tried everything I can think of to feel better.”
If analyzing your feelings were going to help, it would’ve worked by now.
Let’s try something different together.
My approach
Support that goes beyond just talking.
When we work together, you can expect…
-
You are more than just your thoughts. Your emotions, body, and inner world all hold pieces of your experience, and therapy with me honors that. We won’t just talk—we’ll pay attention to what’s happening in your body, the patterns beneath the surface, and the deeper parts of you that are ready to be seen.
Whether it’s noticing how your breath changes when you talk about something painful or exploring what your dreams are trying to tell you, we’ll tend to all of you—not just the parts you’re used to showing the world.
-
This is your space, built around you. Every step of the way, we’ll tune into what feels right, what’s working, and what you truly need—because there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to healing.
Some days, you might need a space to process. Other days, you might want tools to help shift something that feels stuck. I believe that even though healing takes time, there are ways that you can start feeling differently now, which is why I pull from a wide range of approaches—from deep inner work to body-based techniques—to find what fits best for you in the moment.
-
So much of what we carry—the stories we tell ourselves, the patterns we keep repeating—lives just beneath the surface. Together, we’ll bring awareness to those layers, gently uncovering what’s been shaping your experience.
Your body has its own kind of wisdom, too. The way your chest tightens, your stomach sinks, or your breath shortens can tell us just as much as the words you say. As we tune in, you may start to feel more connected to yourself in ways that feel grounding, freeing, or even surprising.
-
Sometimes, just having someone reflect back what they hear—using different words, offering a fresh perspective—can shift something inside you. When you're caught in the same loops of thinking, it can be hard to see a way out. But together, we’ll slow down, connect the dots, and make space for something new to come through. You don’t have to force change—it unfolds naturally when you start seeing yourself and your story in a different way.
Taking steps toward becoming the best version of yourself takes a lot of courage—I commend you for being here.
I can’t wait to watch you transcend your past and transform your future.
My methods
-
EFT, or Tapping, is like acupuncture but with your fingers—using gentle tapping on specific points to help shift emotional and physical stress. It can ease anxiety, release tension, and even support better sleep and productivity. By engaging both the mind and body, EFT helps you move through challenges, rewire negative thought patterns, and feel more at ease. It’s easily tailored to your needs, and can be used on your own outside of sessions, giving you a sense of agency over your reactions.
-
Hypnotherapy uses a relaxed, focused state—kind of like a guided meditation—to help you make meaningful shifts at a deep level. You’re always in control, but this process allows you to access and reshape the subconscious patterns that drive thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and behaviors. It can be a powerful tool for breaking habits, easing anxiety, and creating lasting change.
-
Somatic work helps you tune into your body’s wisdom—because emotions don’t just live in your mind, they show up physically, too. By noticing and working with body sensations, you can release what’s been stored inside, ease tension, and feel more grounded. This approach helps you reconnect with yourself in a way that supports healing and inner balance.
-
EMDR is a structured method that uses guided eye movements or bilateral tapping to stimulate both hemispheres of the brain and help it process difficult experiences in a way that feels less overwhelming. It’s designed to help you move through emotions or memories that have been stuck and transform your perspective so they no longer hold the same emotional weight.
-
Parts work is about getting to know the different sides of yourself—the inner voices, emotions, and patterns that shape your experiences. Some parts may be protective, others might hold old wounds, and all of them have something to say. By understanding and working with these parts, you can heal inner conflict, feel more whole, and move through life with greater clarity and self-compassion.
